Jalapeno Cheese Wheat Bread Recipe

Jalapeno Cheese Whole Wheat Bread

I got the inspiration for this bread from the Pepper Jack Cheese Bread recipe at breadmachinediva.com. The main things I changed were jalapeno cheese instead of Pepper Jack and half whole wheat flour instead of all white flour.

Since this is the first bread I made in my new bread machine, I am excited it turned out so well! Great texture, spiciness, and taste. To make a complete meal, I served this with salad and homemade chili that I had in the freezer. And by serve, I mean I ate it with my roommate.

Jalapeno Cheese Wheat Bread Recipe – In Bread Machine

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups white flour
  • 1 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup grated Jalapeno Cracker Barrel cheese firmly packed
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
  • 3 teaspoons milled flax seeds (or you can use 1 teaspoon of oil)

Follow your bread machine instructions for which ingredients to put in the bread machine first. Mine suggests liquid ingredients first, then dry ingredients, and at the very end add the yeast. You may need to add a few tablespoons of milk if it is too dry or a few tablespoons of flour if it is too wet. Do this in the kneading process. If you want a more moist bread use more milled flax seeds or oil.

  1. I’m so glad you liked the bread! I don’t know that I’ve ever tried jalapeno cheese, but it sounds great.

I was going to buy the Pepper Jack, but I saw the Jalapeno cheese when I was shopping and thought I would try it instead. I will be coming back to your site now that I have a breadmaker again!

I'd love to hear your opinion (good or bad)!
