Mr. & Mrs. Letters for Wedding – DIY
While shopping for nautical centerpiece supplies and ideas (see this post), we spotted a section of already-created wedding crafts. Gold, sparkly MR & MRS letters were propped against a backdrop of lace and other wedding ideas. I thought about getting an “F” for my new last name or “Fairchild” for the whole last name, but we liked how the Mr. & Mrs. looked. I also think about what we will do with the decorations after the wedding. We don’t have room for a big “Fairchild”, although an “F” would be neat. With Mr. & Mrs., we can use it for a while or another couple can use it.
Ingredients:
- Cardboard/paper mache letters of your choice (Paper Mache Letter 8″X5-1/2″)
- Ideas for letters: MR & MRS, &, your last name, your last initial, BRIDE & GROOM, BRIDE GROOM
- Spray paint (I use Rust-Oleum silver spray paint)
- Old sheet, towels, or plastic tarp
Instructions:
- Lay the sheet out in a well-ventilated area and place your letters on top. Make sure there is no dirt, hair, or other debris on the letters.
- Spray paint one side of the letters and the sides. Pay attention to the inside holes of letters (like in the R and the &).
- Let dry according to the spray paint can instructions. Don’t get impatient and flip them too early, it’s not worth it.
- Flip letters over and spray the sides and back sides. Most likely, no one will see the back, but spray them just in case. Again, let fully dry.
