Honeymoon is Booked and We’re Going To…

We talked to two travel agents before finally meeting one that was actually helpful. The first never called or emailed us back after promising to show us options the following week. The second travel agent wouldn’t meet with us in person. Initially she wanted to talk over the phone and I told her we wanted to come in for an appointment. She then proceeded to put me on hold for a few minutes. When she got back on the phone, she said the next best step would be for her to mail me a brochure of the Caribbean since we were still undecided. I know how to learn about places online. It’s 2014 and I’m a market research analyst. Needless to say I declined that worthless offer.

This leads us to door, or travel agent, number three. She was super helpful, willing to answer our questions, and suggest places for our honeymoon. We talked about options, in person, and she promptly sent us three packages to choose from the same day.

I know these days people don’t use travel agents as often and do their own travel booking online. However, I recommend using a good one if you don’t want to worry about any hassles of planning the trip, figuring out transportation, and having trip insurance. With our wedding fast approaching, I’m happy to have one less thing to spend time and mental energy on.

So finally… where are we going? The Dominican Republic! Neither of us have been to the Caribbean and are extremely excited! I am even more pumped for our wedding day because the honeymoon will shortly follow!
