Making Wedding Invitations

My sister, the Maid of Honor, has been working hard the past few days on the invitations with me.  She’s on spring break, so I capitalized on the opportunity. 🙂

My roommate and bridesmaid printed the invitations, which deserves a huge thanks.  Funny story about that… she asked a co-worker if she could print the colored invitations at work and the lady said no, but she would gladly print them at Kinko’s for me! I told my roommate/bridesmaid that I could pay to print them, just thought I’d ask about free printing first, but the woman was insistent. Needless to say, I must write her a thank you card and give her a Starbucks gift card.

We still have many left to do, but I’m glad we’re making the invitations. It saves money and I enjoy it. It’s a nice way to get stuff done and visit with my sister. The process is time consuming and I was very particular in the we used. Every time I made a new version of the invitations or interior cards I sent it to my mom and Tyler’s mom for review until it was just right.

Since I haven’t sent them out yet, I’m not going to post the final version of what they look like. Even though I checked them multiple times (I’ve always been an excellent speller – haha), had other people spell check them, and then proofed the printed version, I was still worried something would be wrong. My brother came over last night while we were making the wedding invitations and the first thing he said was, “You spelled your name wrong!” Luckily, he was just teasing, but I did freak out.

We also learned how to use the self-timer on my new camera, Nikon D3000, so that’s always a good use of sister time. 🙂
