100 Days Until Our Wedding & We Decide To Remodel Our Kitchen

Now, I know this sounds reckless, crazy, and fast. But, we actually have been thinking about remodeling our kitchen for over a year. We have been saving our money, spending less, growing our money (stocks – Tyler says it’s been his hobby since he was a kid) and working more (overtime in Tyler’s case & side jobs in my case). So, on the 100th day before our wedding we paid the deposit to remodel our kitchen.

Some people think we are nuts for doing such a large project so close to our wedding. The thing is though, our kitchen needs it. The fridge doesn’t fit in the space it’s allotted. We have no dishwasher. The tiled countertop has a lip that is impossible to clean. The sink is stained and always smells strange.

As I mentioned in this post about our backyard, the rehearsal dinner will be at our home. With so many family and friends coming to our house that weekend, it will be amazing to have a new, functional, and beautiful kitchen.

We are doing the demo ourselves, but my second cousin, who is a contractor is actually doing the remodel. See… we’re not so crazy! We’re not trying to do it all ourselves on top of work, planning a wedding, DIYing a wedding, keeping up with the rest of our house, and attending 6 weddings.

I don’t think Sherman is excited about it and certainly doesn’t like the hammering.
