Functioning Kitchen and a Demolished Dining Room
We are SOOOO excited to have a functioning kitchen again! And a beautiful one at that! I have waited to post photos because there were little things, like the crown moulding, that were just installed this week.
It is not completely finished. The short white cabinet on the right side will have something under it. There are still patches that need paint.
The granite is called Brown Antique, but it has flecks of silver that look great with the stainless steel appliances and new sink.
I love that this is my new view when I walk into our house. Thanks to my sister-in-law Alexis for the cute burlap & sign hanging up!
Our small bar nook isn’t finished yet, but the granite is in place and already looks 10 times better. The view kinda sucks right now. I will hang a flower basket outside though.
Our little baby loves the new floor. Isn’t he handsome?! So, now we are on to the construction zone… the dining room.
The dining room was slapped on to the ass-end of the house. You can see the old white stucco on the wall and ceiling from where they literally added it on to the outside of the house.
We removed the ceiling tiles because they were ugly. Tyler especially couldn’t stand them and they were uneven. So, Mike will be installing can lights and putting up a regular, flat ceiling just like the kitchen.
The floor was the same tile as the kitchen and Mike is going to install the same floor the kitchen now has. Tyler, Dena, and I did most of the demo of the floor and ceiling.
This looks like the old back porch light. Apparently they just slapped plywood and tiles over the back of the old house. It really needed an update!
3 weeks until the wedding!!
Becca it looks AMAZING! When we remodel our kitchen, I may have to have you design it(and perhaps have my brother install it 😉 )
We can definitely provide input! It wasn’t easy making all the decisions… so give yourself plenty of time! Um… Tyler will not install. We hired for that 🙂 He can demo like a son of a gun though!
