Nautical Wedding Centerpieces

Our wedding was at Foss Waterway Seaport on the Tacoma, WA waterfront. Therefore, we had a nautical theme with blue, white, green, burlap, and rope. I don’t like things super matchy-matchy, as you can see from my home and wedding. I wanted to share what I did to give other brides some ideas.

I printed reservation tags on cardstock for our immediate family and bridal party.

We borrowed the table runners from Tyler’s friend. Didn’t she & her family do a great job?

Tyler, my brother, and I cut wine bottles to make vases for our mixed-color flowers. My mom glued the rope on the top of the wine bottle to cover some of the jagged parts and to tie in the nautical rope theme. All of the wine bottles were either blue or green. Many were from the Westport Winery, the winery by our home town.

The flowers were from the Tacoma Farmer’s Market. We picked them up the morning of the wedding and my gracious family and friends put them in vases. I know people worked really hard behind the scenes for us.

My mother-in-law found the gold candles at a garage sale. I painted some silver, which were supposed to be on the tables, but somehow the gold ones got out. I think they still look good together though! Since we could not have flames in the old wood building, I bought LED tealight candles on Amazon (affiliate link).

The blue and white table runners were actually from a June wedding at the same venue. I visited Foss Waterway Seaport in June to show my dad the place. We saw these table runners and so I called the bride a few weeks later and asked if I could buy them from her. They were just cut pieces of fabric, but I loved them. I think I paid $1 each for them.

I loved that no table was the same. I know some people would hate that, but I like mixing up colors and decorations.
