I started this blog about four years ago and it has evolved over time with my changing life stages and interests. When I was getting married, there were a lot of wedding planning tips, lists, and how-tos. I also frequently write about our house projects since we are almost always doing something to it. Now, with a baby on the way, I have some more posts dedicated to that such as baby showers and decorating a nursery.

I love reading other blogs and seeing how other people live their lives from big occasions, like weddings and babies, to the little daily things, like checklists and home decor. I want my readers to have a similar experience. My posts are meant to inspire new ideas, start a conversation, or share the great work of a completed project – even if I didn’t create it.

So, if you love learning how to do new things, creating intentional spaces in your home, or designing a more simple lifestyle poke around my blog.

With the baby on the way, a full-time job with a commute, a husband, and two giant dogs I don’t post as much as I’d like to, but I keep writing because I enjoy it. And ultimately, that’s what really matters. Do what you love. Everyday I try to live a little more simply so you will see elements of minimalism in my posts as well.

The name BexBernard came from a nickname (Becks/Becs) and my lovable dog. I think the nickname came from my now husband when we were in high school. I’ve seen a lot of British women with the name Bex, so that’s the way I spelled it. Bernard originated from our dogs Hank and Sherman who were St. Bernards. We now also have a Great Pyrenees.

By day, I am a market research analyst. I obtained my MBA because I was fascinated by the constantly changing world of business and marketing. I also wanted to make good money and not live paycheck to paycheck. To feed my creative side, I work on DIY projects, home improvement, make jewelry and crafts, and write blogs about the things I create.

In March 2013 Tyler proposed to me and we got hitched on August 9, 2014!

My blog covers our wedding planning journey, starting a new engaged/married life, improving our home through DIY projects, decorations, and crafts. We have an adorable St. Bernard, Sherman, who is the mascot of BexBernard and Newman, a Great Pyrenees who is fairly new to our home. I love the blogging lifestyle of writing, using new technology, building relationships, and learning design/photography. I have a lot to learn about all of these aspects and I love learning about them.

I definitely will look to your blog for recipes to try! They look delicious 🙂
I finished grad school in May and now that I have a regular 9-5 type job I have a better schedule for cooking wonderful meals. Lately I’ve been trying to plan meals ahead of time and shop early to ensure that I make more homemade meals.

Thanks for reaching out and providing recipes with beautiful photos!

You’re welcome. A lot of my casserole recipes can be made the night before and then put in the oven about an hour or so before serving. I’m going to make several things tomorrow and pop them in the oven before we go to church on Sunday with a time-bake feature so that they are done and ready for company when we get home on Sunday. It makes everything so much easier to do ahead so you aren’t frantically scavenging around the kitchen trying to get everything ready at once!

I also usually cook enough so we have leftovers the next night and don’t have to cook every single night…..laziness, I guess!

That’s awesome! Sounds like I need to try a casserole recipe. I cook enough to have leftovers for lunch too. Why not if you’re already cooking the meal? 🙂

Thanks for liking my Zucchini Parmesan. It is truly a great recipe, not overly difficult and great for company or home. Hope you try it and enjoy it sometime.

I think I’ll try it tomorrow actually! I just picked a HUGE zucchini from my garden. I’ll let you know how it goes and rate it on your page 🙂

Make sure you take pictures of the zucchini “club” you’re using too! Send me a link, I’d love to see it.

I'd love to hear your opinion (good or bad)!
