Thank You Wedding Signs – DIY

A few of my friends have taken pictures on their wedding day holding “Thank You” signs and then send the photo as the thank you card a few weeks after the wedding. I LOVE this idea. Mine had to have an anchor, of course. See below for how to do this yourself.

If you have great handwriting, you can do this yourself. If you don’t, either have someone else write it or I can make you a custom order through my Etsy shop.

You need these supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Using a pencil, lightly write the words or drawing (like an anchor) that you want.
  2. When it is written the way you like, dip the paint brush in to the acrylic paint and slowly trace over your pencil marks.
  3. Let dry for a day and paint a second layer. Repeat until the paint is as dark as you want.
  4. Place your canvas on a work bench and place the nail in the top left corner. Hammer the nail until it creates a big enough hole for your twine.
  5. Make a hole on the right top corner with the hammer and nail. (Do this for both pieces of canvas)
  6. Thread the twine through the two holes and tie a knot at each end to keep it in place. You can make the twine as long as you like.

Next step is to bust these out on your wedding day and get fun photos like these:
